Today we're marking Black History Month (which is really all day every day for us) by shining a spotlight on Madam CJ Walker - noted as America's first self-made female billionaire. It's not just about the wealth she accumulated - Madam CJ Walker stood for what she believed in, and in what can only be described as a hostile environment (to blacks and women), she fought to represent black women like us through her hair product line, her activism, and her philanthropy. We can only stand today with humility and gratitude for her contributions. Because without her, the path we are now walking in the same industry, would have looked very different. ??
