Several years ago the headmaster at my daughter's school gave them all a lecture on the use of the word gay as a derogatory slur. He revealed that he himself was gay and married to a man. His first name was Gordon so the children called everything and everyone a gay Gordon from then on! Being gay doesn't have to be a matter of choice but revealing your business most certainly is. In this instance definitely TMI!
