Since this is a classroom series, its only fitting to end on someone who not only became Wales first black headmaster but was also awarded an MBE for services to education and community life. Betty Campbell was born in Butetown, Cardiff, in 1934. She was a bright student in her class and had dreams of becoming a teacher, but due to racial discrimination, the journey would not be easy.
