We asked you about your thoughts about the sentence “I’m Not Being Racist But…”
Adeptales: So when someone says to you “I’m not being racist but” what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Kris: Seriously? I mean if you already start by saying “I’m not being racist but” you’re already f*cking racist. Sorry I’m swearing. That would be my feeling because why do you have to justify yourself?
You should feel free to say whatever is on your mind without thinking “I’m Not Being Racist BUT I’m gonna say something racist.”
If you say that, you know in your mind you are about to say something racist - so just don’t say it.
Adeptales: When somebody said that to you, what did they say afterwards?
Kris: *Chuckles* Oh Lord… Literally when someone says that to you, you already give them the LOOK and you kiss your teeth and it’s something like “you know what I’m not being racist because my best friend is Black” You have to justify yourself, like you’ve got a black friend…. Really?!
