Welcome! Come and join us in the frontroom.
One of the things we as Africans fail to understand is the Importance of the Circulation of Money. We are willing to spend our hard earned cash with people
who would not care less if we died tomorrow but will give us a plastic smile when they see our cash.
Circulation of money allows people in a group to employ and use the resources of those in the group.
The more you circulate money in your group the more people can be employed and the more wealth is created. It is therefore no surprise that communities who support each other will thrive better if they have the same resources but circulate the finances amongst themselves
Africans for whatever reason seem more comfortable in allowing their finance to leave their group and hence they place themselves at a disadvantage in developing their communities
SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT
The habit of allowing finances in leaving your community and going to other communities which has no direct positive effect on your existence is indeed shooting oneself in the foot, defeating the object. We as a people can do something about it and the way to do it is to be more mindful how we spend our money and to whom we spend it. If those we spend our money with is not returning some of the benefits to your community then you should seek alternatives or develop them yourself.
Crab In A Barrel
We have often come across the term crab in a barrel and its the idea if one person cannot see success for oneself then they will impede the success of others so in the end no one progresses.
We as black people who have had centuries of denial of wealth has some what feel uncomfortable when our own kin amasses some measure of wealth that can change our very life so instead of endorsing it we will tend to undemine
Ways we Undermine
Crediting and not paying on time
Creating negative impressions
Not promoting within group
Not being sympathetic to difficulties
Unfair in comparison to other establishments from different groups
How To Support Businesses
Advertise new and existing businesses
Support them
Being good customers
Provide feedback which may help their service
Do not only use cost criteria to buy from others ( remember start of a business is the most expensive)
Be loyal
Advise and encourage a better service

The mistrust amongst black people is usually caused by our inability to successfully conclude an intent. If covid-19 hasn't opened our eyes to what is in store if we do not organize for self, the future will be far worse than the past. We as black people can rely on no other to ensure a dignified existence.
We continue to glorify what is against us yet at the same time reluctant to create structures to ensure a dignified existence. Marcus Garvey and others showed us the way to improve the lives of our people but because of deep rooted insecurity as Africans we fail to rise and gravitate to the mediocrity of reliance than self-sufficiency.
There are many of us who have lost the belief that we can create communities/societies far better than what has been ascribed to us from which our worth and dignity is under constant attack.
It is the 21st century and yet we have not overcome the deep rooted self- hatred that has been ingrained in our brains via slavery.
Its time as a black people we see ourselves as Africans First as Europeans , Asians and other groups see themselves, until you can embrace your African heritage , I am afraid , you are still mentally enslaved.
I can't Breathe
I cant breathe
Because you do not hear
My voice pleading.
My heart bleeding
A brother, a sister grieving
For the loss of life
That you have taken
Not in mistake
But in wanton evil
I can't breathe
When you should understand
my plight. my suffering, my blight
At your hands, your fists, your knees
Choking, thumping then deceased
In a swift act, another life is stolen
And then the mourning
I can't breathe
When I am anchored to the bottom rung
No hope of stepping forward
Only way is down
My future finished, before it began
My destiny drifting in a cloud,
In uncertainties
In soliloquies of redemption songs.
I can't breathe
Of the heartache caused
Newsflash!! another live lost.
To the hatred and indiscretions
Of an evil, dated in the past
Of post colonial dominance
Hoping, slavery will last
I cant breathe
That from the cradle to the grave
You denied me
Opportunities and growth, that defines me
Brutality and pain you prescribed me
An in the stench of my suffering you plied me
With pain and hurt that riled me
Not thinking of the consequences
You start
to
squeeze
holding my breath,
my uttering,
With my last breath, I plead.
Mommy, hear my prayer
He is killing with his knees
Sinking to oblivion, with my last breath
I yield,
Let me breathe,
Let me breathe.
